Remembrance Video for Phyllis I. Detamore
Phyllis I. Detamore, age 76, 265 E.
Madison, Andrews, died Sunday (December 25, 2005) at 2:41 am at
Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Detamore was a homemaker and retired from Memcor of Huntington. She also worked at the Huntington and Andrews Bell Telephone, Kitchen Maid in Andrews and Hedrick’s Manufacturing of Andrews. A lifetime resident of Andrews, Phyllis was the organist for over 30 years for the Deal-Robbins & Van Gilder Funeral Home in Andrews and played for Norwood Nursing Center as well. She was the organist for the Andrews Church of the Brethren where she was a member. Phyllis was a member of the Thursday Morning Bible Study at the church.
Mrs. Detamore was born on January 5, 1929 in Andrews, the daughter of the late Everett and Bertha (Hodson) Bigelow. She was a 1947 graduate of Andrews High School. Phyllis married Wilbert “Bud” Detamore on December 22, 1951 in Andrews.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years – Wilbert “Bud” Detamore of Andrews; one sister – Carolyn (Milton) Toner of Tampa, FL; one brother – John (Jerry Sue) Bigelow of Carlsbad, New Mexico; one sister-in-law – Mrs. Lewis (May) Bigelow of Andrews; four nephews and four nieces. A brother, Lewis Bigelow, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 4-8 pm Wednesday (December 28, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday (December 29, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jerry Felts officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery.
