Remembrance Video for Phyllis J. Brumbaugh
Phyllis J. Brumbaugh, age 78, 2045
Manito Trail, Huntington, died at 6:00 a.m. Monday (October 1,
2007) at her home.
Mrs. Brumbaugh retired in 1991 after 30 years of service for Memcor working as a quality control inspector. Phyllis was a member of the Huntington First Church of the Nazarene. She belonged to the Rebecca Lodge of Andrews and volunteered at Miller’s Merry Manor in the Activities Department. Phyllis could be found at the Senior Center on Monday’s and worked for many charity organizations.
Phyllis was born on July 16, 1929 in Huntington, the daughter of Dee and Ada (Boyer) Murphy. She was a 1947 graduate of Huntington High School. Phyllis married George F. Brumbaugh on May 4, 1947, in Huntington and he preceded her in death in October of 1979.
Survivors include one son – Dennis (Linda) Brumbaugh of Huntington; two daughters – Judy Lockwood of Huntington and Myra (Scott) Knipstein of Roanoke, IN; three brothers – Tom Murphy of Wichita, Kansas, Jack Murphy of Anniston, Alabama and John Murphy of Thomasville, Georgia; one sister – Joy Rice of Ossian, IN; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons – Brian Brumbaugh and James Brumbaugh and one sister – Bonnie Day.
Visitation will be 2 – 4 & 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday (October 4, 2007) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday with visitation 1 hour prior to service (October 5, 2007) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Gene Vickery officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
