Obituaries

     Pauline M. Baker, age 92, 1180 West 500 North, Huntington, died Wednesday (March 21, 2007) at 3:20 p.m. at the Heritage of Huntington.

     Mrs. Baker farmed along with her husband on their Union Township farm from 1935-1973.  In 1965 they moved to Polk Township, and then in 1976 she moved to Buchanan Street where she lived until her present address.  She was a member of Wabash Primitive Baptist Church.  She was also a member of the Huntington Garden Club and the Comfort Club of Union Township.  Pauline volunteered for the Cancer Services for Huntington County and the Huntington Hospital Guild for many years.  A lifetime resident of Huntington County, she graduated from Huntington High School in 1933.

     Pauline was born on January 25, 1915 in Clear Creek Township, Huntington County, the daughter of George and Margaret (Petrie) Sunderman.  She married Dale L. Baker on October 12, 1935 in Indianapolis, IN.  He preceded her in death on November 17, 1973.

     Survivors include two sons – Kenneth D. (Carole) Baker of Andrews and John L. (Joy) Baker of Huntington; two daughters - Janet (Richard) Albertson of Huntington and Sara (David) Braun of Huntington; ten grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.  Five brothers – Carl Sunderman, Martin Sunderman, Rufus Sunderman, Fred Sunderman and Edward Sunderman, as well as four sisters – Anna Tobias, Emma Guhl, Esther Murray and Edith Ehlers, preceded her in death.

     Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday (March 23, 2007) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday (March 24, 2007) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Elders Melvin Jackson, Phil Nigh and Tom Pitney officiating.  Burial will be in the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County.

     Memorial contribution may be made to the Wabash Primitive Baptist Church in care of the Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN  46750.
