Orbenia Elick, age 75, 403 East State Street, Huntington, died at 3:55 p.m. Thursday (November 2, 2006) at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne.

     Mrs. Elick retired from Magnetek after 40 years working in production.  She was a member of Moose Lodge Ladies Auxiliary Chapter #255.

     Orbenia was born on July 11, 1931 in Dorton, Kentucky, the daughter of Scott and Flossie (Elswick) Tackitt.  She married Andrew J. Elick on September 26, 1958 in Huntington.  He preceded her in death on September 12, 2003.

     Survivors include one son – Garry W. Elick of Huntington; one daughter – Carolyn Sue (Michael) Mattern of Huntington; four sisters – Opal (Jack) Millman of Andrews, IN, Ola Mae (Delano) Tackett of Andrews, IN, Gladys Tackett of Virgie, Kentucky and Eleanor Tackitt of Virgie, Kentucky; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  A son, Larry D. Elick, and three brothers - Ruben Tackitt, Otis Tackitt and Bobby Tackitt, preceded her in death.

     Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Monday (November 6, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary.  Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday (November 7, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Steve Kohler officiating.  Burial will be in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
