Nona Ruth Jewell Vaughn, age 76, 1180 West  500 North, Huntington, died Saturday (April 22, 2006) at 7:44 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN.

     Mrs. Vaughn ministered along with her husband, E. Ray Jewell, pastoring in Nazarene Churches in Ogden, IL, Anna, IL, Beardstown, IL, Mt. Vernon, IL and Springfield, IL and in Elkhart, IN and Fort Wayne, IN.  A resident of Huntington since 1985, she was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Huntington. 

     Mrs. Vaughn was born on December 12, 1929, in Cambridge City, IN, the daughter of Jasper and Hazel (Murry) Longnecker.  She was a 1948 graduate of Beech Grove High School in Beech Grove, IN.  Mrs. Vaughn married E. Ray Jewell on June 12, 1948 in Beech Grove, IN and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1984.  Her second marriage was to Vola L. Vaughn on March 5, 1985 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2002.     

     Survivors include one son – Ronald Lee (Sandy) Jewell of Ft. Wayne, IN; one daughter – Mrs. Dale (Ronda Rae) Hawkins of Huntington; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.  A sister – Barbara Mitchell, preceded her in death.

     Visitation will be 11:30 am – 1:30 pm on Tuesday (April 25, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary.  Funeral services will follow at 1:30 pm at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Kevin Dunlop, Rev. Gene Vickery and Rev. Kenneth Jewell officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington, IN.  

     Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene Building Fund or the First Church of the Nazarene Growing Place Pre-school in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive Huntington, IN.
