Nina M. Cocklin, 90,
1215 Edwin Street, Huntington, died Monday (April 25, 2005) at 12:03 p.m. in Parkview Huntington Hospital.
Mrs. Cocklin retired in 1978 from Memcor where she was an inspector. Prior to that, she worked at the former Hettrick Manufacturing in Huntington. A lifetime resident of Huntington, she attended the former East State Street Church of God.
Mrs. Cocklin was born on July 11, 1914 in Huntington, the daughter of Louis and Magdelene (VanDorsten) Elston. She married Ray Voght in 1932 in Huntington and he preceded her in death on December 15, 1987. On August 26, 1956, she married Earl Cocklin, in Holland, MI. He preceded her in death on December 14, 1989.
Survivors include 3 sons – Carl Edward Voght of Huntington, Robert Eugene Voght of Huntington and Richard Wayne Voght of Huntington, 3 daughters – Mrs. Orville (Connie) Crews of Huntington, Carolyn Voght of Huntington and Mrs. Tom (Judy) Burnworth of Lagro, IN, 1 step son – Lynn Cocklin of Huntington, 2 sisters – Becky Ambler of Huntington and Mrs. Dick (Ann) Houser of Kirby, AR, 25 grandchildren , several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Jack Voght, brothers, Russell, Ervin and Ernest Elston, and a sister, Mable Elston preceded her in death.
Visitation will be Wednesday (April 27, 2005) from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday (April 28, 2005) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Russell Buzzard officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Nina M. Cocklin, may be made to the donor’s choice in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, IN 46750.
