Remembrance Video for Max D. Hoch

Max D. Hoch, age 82, Huntington, died at 4:00 a.m. Wednesday
(June 13, 2007) at his home.
Mr. Hoch retired from Yellow Freight Transport in 1981. After his retirement, he worked for Smith Furniture for many years. Max was a member of Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Third Order of Secular Franciscans. Max helped coordinate the Eucharistic adorations at Ss. Peter & Paul and St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Max also was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #414 in Ft.Wayne, and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #2689 in Huntington. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1943. During WW II, Max was a corporal with the United States Army in the 328th Infantry Regiment Medical Division.
Max was born on November 29, 1924 in Huntington, the son of Gilbert and Mildred (Smith) Hoch. He married Mary K. Saluke on June 12, 1948 in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years – Mary K. Hoch of Huntington; two sons – Max J. (Linda) Hoch of Roanoke, IN and John G. (Sharon) Hoch of Huntington; two daughters – Kathy (Robert) Chwedyk of Algonquin, Illinois and Jane (Ed) Hohe of Huntington; one sister – Marjorie Yoos of Huntington; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. One sister Alice Hoch preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday (June 15, 2007) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with the Rosary Service following at 8:00 p.m. with the Reverend David Ruppert. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday (June 16, 2007) at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 840 Cherry Street, Huntington, with Father Ron Rieder and the Reverend David Ruppert officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington. The V.F.W. Post # 2689 will provide the military graveside rites.
Memorials may be made Parkview Home Health Care & Hospice and to Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive Huntington, IN.
