Maurice E. Wright, age 94, Huntington, died at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday (February 13, 2007) at Norwood Nursing Center, Huntington.

     Mr. Wright retired in 1974 after 22 years with S.S. Kresge Distribution Center in Ft. Wayne.  Prior to that, he worked 15 years at Imco Manufacturing in Huntington.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #2689 both in Huntington, and in the American Legion Post #31 in Angola.  Mr. Wright resided in Huntington all but for the 30 years that he lived in Angola, IN.  Maurice graduated in 1931 from Huntington High School.    A WW II veteran, he served with the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Asiatic-Pacific Tour.

     Mr. Wright was born November 3, 1912 in Huntington, the son of Clarence E. and Viola B. (Fry) Wright.  He married Juanita B. Buse on August 31, 1940 at the Central Christian Church in Huntington. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2004.

     Survivors include his brother – Clarence Wright, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and his sister – Helen Wells of Deming, New Mexico.  His brother, George Wright, and sister, Agnes Jarvis, preceded him in death.

     Visitation will be 1 - 3 p.m. Saturday (February 17, 2006) at Bailey-Love Mortuary.  Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday (February 17, 2007) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Jerry Felts officiating.  Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Huntington.
