Remembrance Video for Mary Jane Schoeff
Mary Jane Schoeff, 80, Huntington, died at 6:53 p.m. Friday
(February 29, 2008) at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne.
Mrs. Schoeff was a bookkeeper for 19 years in the Welfare Department in Huntington. She also worked at Memcor in Huntington as a bookkeeper, and at the Lawrence Studio in Huntington, as a photographer. Mary was a member of St. Peter’s First Community Church in Huntington. She also was a Past President of the women’s auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post 2689 (Huntington), member of the women’s auxiliary of the American Legion Post 160 (Roanoke), and the Beta Sigma Phi Bridge Club of Huntington.
Mary was born July 6, 1927 in Huntington. She was the daughter of Claude and Florence (Emley) Farthing. She married Richard E. Chesterman in Huntington, in February of 1948, and he preceded her in death in May of 1961. She then married John A. Schoeff in October of 1964 in Bluffton, and he then preceded her in death on October of 2002.
Survivors include her son – Richard (Karen) Chesterman of Huntington; a daughter – Mrs. Rick (Diana Sue) Schrader-Reeder of Melbourn, Florida; a sister – Betty Jean Jacobs of Beaufort, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Two brothers – Donald and Rex Farthing, also preceded her in death.
Visitation will be 2 – 8 p.m. Tuesday (March 4, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday (March 5, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Gary Newton. Burial will be held at Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County.
