James Edgar
Hower, 50, 231 South Broadway,
Huntington, died at 3:00 a.m. Sunday (May 11, 2008) at his home
residence.
James was employed as a machinist for various places. He was a member of the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Huntington and the American Legion Post # 160 in Roanoke, IN. James loved woodworking and the outdoors – fishing, golfing, gardening and canoeing.
James was born August 19, 1957 in Huntington, the son of Vaughn R. and Myra J. (Sunderman) Hower. He graduated from Huntington North High School in 1975 and attended I.T.T. in Ft. Wayne.
Survivors include his mother – Myra J. Turner of Warren, IN; three brothers – George H. Hower of Minnetonka, Minnesota, Stephen D. Hower of St. Albans, Misssouri and David M. Hower of Huntington; three sisters – Cynthia (Alan) Claus of Ft. Wayne, Kathyrn (Dave) Runion of Huntington and Carla (Dale) Meyer of Ft. Wayne and several nephews and nieces. His father preceded him in death.
There will be no visitation or burial. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday (May 24, 2008) at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, 648 N. La Fontaine Street, Huntington, with the Rev. Dr. Richard Lofgren officiating.
