Helen R. Hosier, age 92, formerly of 1605 Green Acre Dr., Huntington, died Friday (December 8, 2006) at 12:45 a.m. at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne.

     Mrs. Hosier was a homemaker and a resident of Huntington for most of her life.  She was a member of the St. Peter’s First United Church of Christ, Past Worthy Matron with the Order of Eastern Star Floral Chapter #75, and the Ladies of the Moose, all in Huntington.

     Helen was born on May 12, 1914 in Wabash County, IN, the daughter of Charles H. and Fern F. (Lukenbill) Rice.  On September 23, 1924, in Huntington, IN, she and Claude A. Hosier were married.  He preceded her in death on March 30, 2003.

     Survivors include three sons – Ronald D.(Nancy) Hosier of Huntington, Kenneth E. Hosier of Huntington and Phillip D. (Cindy) Hosier of Ft. Wayne, IN; one daughter – Claudia Ann Growney at Orion, Michigan; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren.  A daughter – Charlene K. Hosier, brothers – Herb Rice, Max Rice, Don Rice and Rex Rice, and sister – Naomi Rice, preceded her in death.

     Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. on Sunday (December 10, 2006) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with O.E.S. Twilight Services following at 7 p.m.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday (December 11, 2006) with one hour of visitation prior to services at Bailey-Love Mortuary with August Hacker officiating.  Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery, Huntington.
