Ernest L. McBride, age 88, 672 East Franklin Street, Huntington, died at 9:40 p.m. Monday (May 12, 2008) at the Hospice Home in Ft. Wayne.

     Mr. McBride retired in 1982 from United Technologies in Ft. Wayne where he was a tool & die maker for 18 years.   Ernest was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #2689 and the Moose Lodge #837 all of Huntington.

     Ernest was born on March 15, 1920 in East Chicago, IN the son of Raymond C. and Ottie M. (Curtis) McBride.  He served as a Corporal in the United States Army during WW II.  He married Maro D. Elick on May 29, 1958 in Huntington.

     Survivors include his wife of 50 years – Maro D. McBride of Huntington; one son – Steve (Kathy) Rodenberger of Huntington; one daughter – Linda Sue (Steven) Leialoha of Sebring, FL; one brother – Marvin McBride of Wabash; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  A brother - Leslie McBride, a sister - Florence DeWitt, and a great-great-grandson – Dakota Voght preceded him in death.

     A private graveside service and burial will be held at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, with Rev. David Ballinger officiating.
