Eloise M. (Schenkel) Foster, age 85, Huntington, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday (March 7, 2008) at the Miller’s Merry Manor, Huntington.

     Mrs. Foster was employed through Rollo, Harter, & Poling LLP, as a legal secretary.  She also worked for Congressman Roush’s local office, a secretary for the Huntington North High School and Huntington High School, and was co-owner of The Family Store, which was located on the corner of Jefferson St. and Washington St.     Eloise was a 50+ year member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Huntington Business and Professional Women’s Organization.

     Eloise was born on October 24, 1922 in Huntington, the daughter of Albert T. and Oma D. (Smith) Fahl.  She was a graduate of Huntington High School. Eloise married Robert A. Schenkel on October 9, 1941 in Huntington.  He preceded her in death in 1983.  She then married G. Robert Foster on January 17, 1987, at the Trinity United Methodist Church.

     Survivors include her husband of 21 years – G. Robert Foster of Huntington; one son – Gregory A. (Claudia) Schenkel of Indianapolis; one daughter – Mrs. Mark (Delene) Swing of Huntington; five step-sons – Steve Foster of New Orleans, LA, Tom Foster of Huntsville, AL, Jim Foster of Huntington, Dave Foster of Casper, WY, and Larry Foster of Salinas, CA; one step-daughter – Sally Foster of Vancouver, WA; 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.  Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, a sister – Evie Barnhisel, and a brother – Kenneth Fahl.

     Visitation will be 2 – 7 p.m. Tuesday (March 11, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday (March 12, 2008) at the Trinity United Methodist Church, 530 Guilford Street, with Rev. David Ballinger and Rev. Marti Lundy officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Peter’s Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
