Remembrance Video for Dean Paul Lahr
Dean Paul Lahr, age 76, Huntington, passed away at 4:00 a.m.
Saturday (July 19, 2008) at his residence.
Mr. Lahr was a lifetime Rock Creek Township farmer and retired in 2002 from Majestic Company in Huntington after 36 1/2 years in the shipping and receiving department. He graduated from West Rock Creek High School in 1950 and was a member of the Loon Creek Church of the Brethren.
Dean was born on May 27, 1932 in West Rock Creek Township, Huntington County, the son of Guy and Mary Helen (Davis) Lahr. He was united in marriage to Marilyn J. Monteith on September 18, 1955 in Elkhart, IN.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years – Marilyn J. Lahr of Huntington; two sons - Steven W. (Michele) Lahr of Huntington and Douglas P. (Lisa) Lahr of Waynedale, IN; his mother-in-law – Vera Monteith of Heritage Pointe, Warren, IN and formerly of Elkhart; two grandsons – Travis A. Lahr and Trenten Dean Lahr both of Huntington County, and one granddaughter - Shantel Nicole Lahr of Waynedale, IN. His parents, a brother - Don K. Lahr, and a nephew - Kevin M. Lahr, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be 2 – 8 p.m. Friday (July 25, 2008) at Bailey-Love Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (July 26, 2008) at the Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Kellie Herber officiating. Burial will be in the Star of Hope Cemetery, Huntington County.
